Once upon an Easter…I revisited my past.

March 25, 2008 at 10:00 am (awkward, aww, family, fun, life, people)

So we had an incredible time at Northwest.

I hadn’t realized how much I miss that place- brought back a lot of memories.

It was a bit odd to have people fawning over me the whole time and telling me they think about me all the time and I’m their best friend and they can’t believe how much I’ve grown when I had NO idea who they were at ALL!

This is my old home where I grew up. =]

My life.

March 23, 2008 at 10:14 am (and...ACTION!, birthday, blog, friends, fun, life, music, orchard valley, people, school, shows)

Yes, I know I am lame lame lame.

So here’s what’s gone on in the past…oh jeez…month?

Emma came!

The musical was AMAZING!

Got a part in the jazz choir (only 7 people did so i guess that’s pretty good)

Got the part of Belle for the upcoming Disney thing. More on that later.

Hel-yeah-icopter egg drop yesterday at The Orchard.

Today I’m on my way home to Chicago to go to the Easter service at my old church.

Happy Easter to everybody!

February 15, 2008 at 7:40 pm (awkward, haha, people)

I think I am going to lead a revolt against chain letters, forwarded e-mails, and ESPECIALLY forwarded text messages.

like this

all messed up

they’re all

and you end up getting 8 out of order, incomprehensible text messages that are not even of any importance.

And besides, I do not need to prove my love for Jesus Christ by sending this e-mail to 25 people. I already know that He is watching…so I am going to go out there and do something that glorifies him. ((and I’m pretty sure that resending doesn’t count))

This morning at about 5:30 a.m. my phone vibrated very loudly and annoyingly against my desk telling me that I had a text message. I ignored it and tried to fall asleep.

5 minutes later…

…it buzzes again.

Then another time.

So I dragged myself out of my incredibly warm and comfy bed and flipped it open to find, not something too terribly important or anything, but a chain text saying to wear NIU colors and to resend this to everyone in your phone book or something dreadful would happen, blah blah, you will die in seven days…the whole nine yards. I deleted it and went on with my morning but as I was leaving the house I remebered. I looked down to see that I was already conveniently wearing a black Beatles shirt so I ran back upstairs threw on a red sweatshirt over it and then went on my merry way. I got to class and the girl who sent me was sitting there right behind me.

Me: Oh hey! I got your text. (proudly unzipping my coat to reveal my red shirt.)

Her: oh.

I look down and she was wearing a bright blue and grey shirt.

So much for that.

Our Mini-Adventure in the Chi.

February 10, 2008 at 5:36 pm (food, friends, fun, haha, kids, life, orchard valley, people, youth group)

So here’s a little review of what went down yesterday.

Once we got there we went to eat at Ed Debevic’s where Ben was horribly slammed by our waitress…

….her name was Ernie but we called her Bert.

Then to be funny Ben tried to get the credit card all wet and dirty before she came back…and he accidently dropped it in.

He’s just smooth like that.

After getting lost in a parking lot with no cars in it and hitting many dead ends….

…we finally made it to the bean.

We took HUNDREDS (no exaggeration) of stupid pictures of ourselves with the bean in funny positions.

But then we realized that being superheroes was much much more fun.

But being so super is easily tiring (and we’re not the kind that have super heat laser vision so it was really cold).

So the amazing 7 ran over to Caribou.

Unfortunately, poor Ron doesn’t like to run. He got stuck in the middle of the street.

Once the whole group was reunited we sat down and winded up having some very deep and meaningful philosophical and theological conversations.

Anna apparently was quite bored with us.

By the way…this is Todd. He’s a stud.

On the way back to the van we sound some awesome artwork and this humongous steel swing.

To pass the time on the way home we took billions of pictures and showed our support for TWLOHA.

And that was our insanely fun day. (as short as I could make it)

No More “Religion”

January 8, 2008 at 7:30 pm (god, jesus, life, love, pain, people, poor, thoughts)

Quite honestly, I am very sick of so-called religion.

I feel like the church today is like an ostrich with it’s head stuck in the freaking sand. They simply just cannot seem to figure out what it means to follow Jesus. I’m just really disgusted with what people have made the word christianity out to be. You can’t say that you are a Christian out in public without having to defend and hopelessly justify every aspect of it. There is something sickeningly wrong with religion today and we all should be doing something to set that right. Instead of money, hypocrisy, lattes, and congregation numbers shouldn’t we be focusing on love and forgiveness? Compassion and mercy?

Love is the movement.

Audtions Part 2

December 11, 2007 at 8:49 pm (and...ACTION!, fun, music, people, school, shows)

Today went considerably better. I’m very glad. Monologue went smooth and my scene was with Tommy and Griffen who are both incredible actors so that made me look even better.

Hopefully things will even out. =)
