Audtions Part 2

December 11, 2007 at 8:49 pm (and...ACTION!, fun, music, people, school, shows)

Today went considerably better. I’m very glad. Monologue went smooth and my scene was with Tommy and Griffen who are both incredible actors so that made me look even better.

Hopefully things will even out. =)

Ice ice baby…

December 2, 2007 at 6:32 pm (christmas, family, food, friends, fun, haha, life, music)

It was so magically cute…

I watched A Year Without a Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman, and Rudolf with the boys I babysit as we munched on homemade christmas cookies. As I finished my Christmas shopping for the day I walked out the door of the store to the sight of beautiful, lovely snowflakes falling around the brightly decorated Christmas tree in the middle of the square. I had a snowball fight with one of my best friends and we went to a cute sandwich shop and listened to some live music. I was in SUCH a Christmasy mood.

Then came the ice. It’s nasty.

In the words of my dad, “Looks like the grass is covered in a butload of donut glaze.”

Only he would think of that.

My Life Should be a Broadway Production.

November 12, 2007 at 8:33 pm (awkward, friends, fun, life, music, people, school)

No joke. So much of my life revolves around music… it’s ridiculous. Every time I watch a musical with my someone who doesn’t know me, they always comment on how ridiculous and unrealistic they are. “Seriously, who really bursts out into song in the middle of a conversation and starts singing?” Well obviously they haven’t lived a day in my Vans. Here are just a few scenarios to give you an idea….

1. I am in the doctors office. It’s quite quiet. The only sound is the secretary-type lady typing and a young boy flipping through a magazine. In the background is this horribly annoying opera music. If it were good I would have no problem with it, but I felt like I was getting sound-bitten to death. After a few minutes of teeth-gritting agony, the nurse called my name in the biggest smile known to any human. I sauntered up, snapping and humming, trying to drone out the opera. She giggled at me and showed me to the room. I was sitting in there and the doctor and my mom walked in. I was of course, by now, full out singing Wicked’s Defying Gravity. ((you know the part where she’s high above everyone else and belting out the whole “youll never bring me down ladeedadeedah”)) I abruptly stopped and pretended to be checking my text messages. After a small conversation with my mom the doctor proceeded to tell me what’s going on. The only thing was, I didn’t notice, so I kept on humming loudly, staring at an odd looking diagram and completely ignoring him. After, as the secretary was scheduling another appointment, I slid in front of her window doing jazz fingers and side stepping and singing some jazzy showtune. I’m guessing from Chicago or Rent. It’s a sad thing when a mom is embarassed of her teenage daughter. Pretty sure it’s supposed to be the other way around.

2. Setting: lunch table

actors: leslie, kim, laura, zoe, bekah, and christa

camera pan left and middle shot of all.

Cue Leslie talking about duct tape. “All I need is some…”

Bekah jumps up obnoxiously and starts singing….”all you need is love”

suddenly…whole lunch table joins in reciting moulin rouge and dancing in sync.

cue surrounding tables to simultaneously turn around and stare.

3. I was sitting outside after an intense madrigal rehersal when some random man comes up and makes up a rap about me. He told me I’m lucky since people “don’t freestyle for free these days yo”.

ok well there are millions upon trillions of more but perhaps I’ll save those for a later date since I have to run.

have an awesome night.

My Halloween… a few days late.

November 2, 2007 at 5:47 pm (food, fun)

First I had to make up a costume in 5 minutes so I could take my sisters trick-or-treating. I was a pirate. NOT a hobo! Apparently I wasn’t piratey enough. Is it really not noticeable? and in this new neighborhood… they don’t exactly approve of people my age trick-or-treating. For some reason though, they didn’t mind in the least when this one young couple walked around trick-or-treating with a baby that couldn’t even eat candy… they just ate it themselves.

((notice Scott’s Christmas card from last year STILL on my fridge. tee hee))

Candy turn out was ok… we were only out for a while.

Then we went to Chipotle and got some delicious free burritos after our huge family made complete fools out of ourselves and walked in dressed as burritos.

I LOVE MY FRIENDS!!!

October 23, 2007 at 7:47 pm (friends, fun, jesus, life, love, people, vcbc)

This weekend was the most amazing weekend of my life!  I can’t believe the close relationships formed and the fun we had and God was really at work in peoples hearts. I can’t even find the words to describe it! If you have a facebook, then you can see all of pictures on there… if not then hopefully they will be going up on Flickr soon.

I’m off.

October 19, 2007 at 7:56 am (friends, fun, jesus, love, people, vcbc)

Im leaving for Village Creek in about an hour, and I could not be more ecstatic! That place means so much to me! My parents met there, I grew up there, I accepted Christ there, most of my closest friendships were made there. I love it and I can’t wait! An update of course will be in order once I return and, knowing me, millions upon millions of pictures.

Have an awesome weekend!

Servantworks Banquet.

October 14, 2007 at 7:32 pm (friends, fun, people, servantworks)

Last night was amazing! I helped out at the Servantworks Banquet and met some of the most incredible people! For example…

Prang: first girl that the Larson family helped out. she gave her testimony and we took pictures.

Jimi Allen: awesome photographer and super sweet guy

The State Rep for Illinois.

Shuree Rivera: incredible singer. really fun and friendly

Then of course there were friends. (Equally as amazing.) The Meisners, Anna Larson (well Anna Hammond now), Ben Hammond, Betsy and Jason Hartong. It was awesome to see what’s going on in Thailand and hear  how lives are being changed over there. And over here too! Right in Aurora. I’m so glad that I was a part of that amazing night. =)

Finally!

September 29, 2007 at 9:46 pm (fun, school)

My dear computer is back! Well homecoming week has been absolutely incredible! I’ve definitely had a lot of new experiences such as seeing a human jump rope and going to my very first football game! Yay! Sadly, I’m not going to the dance tonight though due to some very complicated schedule issues but there’s always next year. I’m so excited for this school year! It’s going to be awesome. And can I just say that I go to the very best school around?!? The seniors somehow got it around the school to vote for a certain homecoming king and queen. Now it wasn’t your typical unrealisticly beautiful popular people. It was a queen with cancer and a king with a brain tumor. I love my school. =)
